When playing the Oni, it is imperative that you utilize his blood meter mechanic. The ability known as Yamaoka's Wrath, encourages Oni players to injure as many survivors as possible. For when the Oni strikes a survivor they drop blood droplets that can be used to increase his powerful blood meter. As the Oni hunts down the various survivors in a match he will accumulate more and more blood droplets thus increasing his damage potent


If you just hopped into a match of Dead by Daylight then you wouldn't even think the game has ranked play. However, the game does its best to put killers with equally skilled survivors. It does an excellent job at that goal. Unfortunately, the ranking system doesn't do a great job of allowing everyone into the community of killers. Ranks reset on the 13 of every month which gives players something to look forward to af


The second move the Oni is given once he increases his blood meter fully is the rapid Demon Dash. This ability grants the Oni the ability to rapidly sprint and cover long distance. So coupled with the devastating Demon Strike this ability turns an already powerful offensively oriented killer into one which is all but avoidable. This ability allows the Oni to very quickly sprint towards opponents and provides a melee attack at the end of the sprint. This melee strikes can also down a survivor in one hit if it's allowed to connect and is a powerful weapon in the Oni's vast arse


Without a doubt, the "Chains of Hate" DLC brings a welcome addition to Dead by Daylight maps by Daylight with the introduction of the Deathslinger. This is not to say that the killer will be a top-tier choice for wiping out entire teams of survivors with ease, but rather that the design is unique, interesting, and most importantly, accessible for most play


This isn't the case for some of the maps, but the ones that are in dense forest areas are something the developers should look at. Even when there's heavy fog while playing as the killer, it can be distracting and unfair because now the killer can't see in front of them and it becomes a big disadvant


As we've already mentioned several times, gameplay in Dead by Daylight is full of variety. It is difficult for the gameplay to get stale so early because of the many survivors and killers. The 18 killers and 20 different survivors add endless possibilities. Each killer and survivor is also equipped with their own unique perks that can be unlocked for others later. Even though the gameplay may be stacked against the survivors, the challenge is very reward


Gearhead is further limited because it does not activate from special attacks, such as either Leatherface or Hillbilly’s chainsaw, or hatchets thrown by the Huntress, and is all but counterproductive outside of certain M1 killers. Compared to the last killer release, the Oni, there is a much larger skill-ceiling needed to properly maneuver the rampaging killer and navigate obstacles on a map to use Demon Dash and Strike effectively. The simplicity of the Deathslinger’s design allows players of all ranks to be effective killers. Combined with a beautiful new map in the Dead Dawg Saloon and a new survivor, whose perks will be covered elsewhere, Chains of Hate is a must-have DLC for all play
