The trailer for Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl does give a look at a stage that looks ripped right out of The Wild Thornberrys . In screenshots, it's also shown that this level can seemingly turn upside down, giving more credence to the idea that these stages will shift. So, like any normal human being, I set the new trailer to 0.25x and scoured it for clues. Where is Aang? Korra? Katara? Zuko? Iroh? Sokka? Toph? Asami? The Last Airbender has a rating of 9.3 on IMDb , while Korra earned itself a respectable 8.4 . For the sake of comparison, SpongeBob has an 8.2 , Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has a 7.8 , and The Wild Thornberrys has a 6.7 , all of which - as mentioned in the first paragraph - have characters representing them in the game. When you consider that Avatar: The Last Airbender is Nickelodeon’s highest-rated show of all time, and that Nick recently set up Avatar Studios as a means of specifically focusing on the future of that series, it would seem absolutely absurd for it to exclude it from its upcoming brawler.


There are two other multiplayer modes that put all the focus on combat. The first, Headhunters, turns OMGH into a complete bloodbath. The player who gets the most kills in the allotted time wins. Meanwhile, Last Man Standing is exactly as it sounds with the last person surviving being crowned the victor for a round, and five wins makes you the champ

The first stage shown off for Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl seems to be related to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles . Though it could also just be a basic stage that's not related to any property. Each character is shown popping up on a rooftop location. In several shots, the characters are also battling across the stage, which means it will likely be playable. Next, is at least one stage based on Spongebob Squarepants . Early in the trailer, a few characters are fighting on a pirate ship. Later, the characters are fighting through the Jelly Fish Fields. It's tough to say, but this could be a single stage where the ship pops up in the middle of a battle. Either way, they're definitely straight from the Spongebob cart


There's also a stage set in a junkyard. Most likely, this stage from Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl is related to Aaahh!!! Real Monsters . In that show, the monsters live in a junkyard, so this would be the perfect setting for them. The other option would be Hey Arnold! , as the look of the stage matches the look of that show. The trailer also shows off a graveyard stage that could be related to the Real Monsters or several other Nick properties like Invader Zim . There's also a stage set at a carnival that guy seems to be Glove World from Spongebob Squarepan


Following up from the original Override , Super Mech League shifts gears from an alien invasion plot to a more straightforward sports analogy. It's basically like the 2011 film Real Steel if Hugh Jackman was replaced with a still image of a female trainer who talks all about the progress the player is making climbing up the ranks. The "story" mode is a layer of voiced dialogue in the menus that funnels players into online fights. There is a lot of voice work, but all the talking in the world can't make up for the lack of any presentation outside of the giant robot fig

Korra’s braids are usually pretty thin, but if you watch an action sequence from the show you’ll see that her hair thickens in combat. Meanwhile, Aang’s bald head and distinctive ears separate his silhouette from those of pretty much every other Nickelodeon character ever created. As protagonists of some of Nick’s biggest shows, they’re natural shoo-ins for a game - especially a fighting game. Still, it’s refreshing to see some confirmation that we’ve got at least one Avatar stage and two Avatar characters. If they weren’t in All-Star Brawl, there’s no way in hell I’d have considered playing it. Now, though… Well, I might start playing Smash again so I can become an esports pro as a Korra main.
