Given Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra are two of Nickelodeon's strongest IPs, transcending generations of fans, it was puzzling that Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl's reveal didn't lead with Aang and Korra on the initial roster. As the game isn't set to launch until the fall, it's possible developers are holding that announcement until closer to the release date in order to ramp up hype around the game. Hopefully there are more characters, stages, and tracks from Avatar included in the final game. As for now, though, I’m just happy that it seems Avatar is being included to at least some extent. This is my favourite series ever made, and, honestly, I’m relieved to finally see it being represented in a modern video game, even if Aang and Korra are getting into fistfights with the dinosaur from Rugrats.

He must learn to master all four elements in order to bring the fire nation to heel and restore balance between the nations. The Legend of Korra is about Aang's successor, Korra, who has to work to bring unity on the physical and spirit realms alike. Avatar: The Last Airbender is my favourite series of all time - I watched the whole 61-episode run three times during the pandemic and have an enormous tattoo based on The Tale of Iroh lining the inside of my right bicep. I’m admittedly a little less into The Legend of Korra , but it’s still probably in my top ten TV shows. This is a universe I’ve devoted hundreds of hours to, and I’ll be damned if Nick is bringing out a Smash -esque brawler that forgets about some of the best characters in animation history.

The best part of Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 's trailer was undoubtedly the cast of characters that was revealed. It seems that the game is really taking care to make sure that each era of Nickelodeon is being represented, no matter how obscure some characters may be at this point. There have been some concerns, however, about some surprising omissions that certainly seem to deserve representation in this party-fighting game. While Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 's release trailer gave fans a quick peek at the game, it also confirmed a handful of characters — 14 in total — that will feature. While the initial roster is fairly star-studded, there are a few contenders that are conspicuously missing.
